The sun is coming up a little later and the temps have, thankfully, dropped a few degrees. My pace this week was much slower, around a 10:30 minute per mile, and I overall felt tired and sluggish. There is a deep nagging…something…high in my upper left quad, almost feels like where the quad muscle meets the glute. It doesn’t hurt, per say, it just makes it’s presence know both while running and throughout the day.
These types of “niggles”, I believe is what I’ve seen others reference them as and seems accurate to me, have cropped up on the past. They don’t happen often and when the do my usual response is to slow down for a while and try to work it out with extra stretching before and after then also throwing in additional strengthening exercises.
I am hoping with a drop in temps and additional PT that my pace will improve as I start picking up distance and prepare for races in October and December.
Run happy!
