RSD #1,801 – 1,803 The Gift of Running

The gift continues on with three more days of trail runs done. I am feeling stronger and the temps are starting to rise. Training from here out will be harder and hot. I will need to get out earlier and hydrate better.

I haven’t ever used salt tabs much due to the short distances and am thinking I might add a few on some longer training runs in the next few weeks.

This is part of the gift of running. It is trying new diet, supplament, and training regiments that work for you. We are all created uniquely beautiful and what works for one person may not work for another.

The gift of running has taught me so many valuable lessons over the years. I have learned so much about myself and gained greater appreciation for my health, my life, and the love of the people around me.

RSD #1,782 – 1,785 Just say no

I got derailed from my daily routine and started to lose focus due to some personal distractions. The running saves me. It brings me back to center. It is where I have the conversations with myself about what I really want in my life.

Setting new standards and boundaries sounds easy until you are tested. Facing the truth can be hard. The reality that others don’t always share your same values can be a harsh one…particularly when they are your family or close friends.

Today I am recentering and doubling down on my focus for positive change in my life. I will find ways to limit exposure to those who threaten or do not align with the direction I am headed in. Today and every day I run for me.

RSD #1,775 Ran with my firstborn son today

It doesn’t get any better than sharing miles with your children. Today was with my first born son, Bo, who has his own run streak going. He runs two miles every day and today he went the extra mile with his mom.

This is Bo and me at my gratitude tree. Most days this is my turn around point and I touch the tree and say a little prayer of gratitude for the day.

RSD #1,746 Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I forgot and didn’t wear green on my run today. Good thing I was alone and no strangers tried to pinch me!!

The sun was shining and was a beautiful 55 degrees. Just can’t ask for better weather! Too bad I don’t have time for a longer run today.

My best friends bachelorette party is tonight…”She”nanigans begin early at 3:00pm. Might be a rough run tomorrow morning!

Still listening to The Power of One More and actually restarted it to hear the first seven or eight chapters again. There are definitely some things I need to hear in order to make some lasting changes in my life.

Run happy!

RSD #1,592 & #1,593 Clouds, no rain

Really thought I was going to get rained on this morning but no such luck. A little hung over from an Adult Prom night last night so slow and steady to get it done was the strategy today. Good thing I got my run in early yesterday.

The rain did finally come and a high of 74 degrees today makes for a nice recovery day inside doing chores.

Run happy!

RSD #1,558, #1,559, #1560, & #1,561

Whooooweee! Guess my days are running together and I am slacking!!

Who knew writing every day would be more difficult then running every day? The reason I started the blog was to get more in touch with my creative side and to learn to write more. So, with that in mind my intention is to get back to the daily blog and explore the run at a deeper level.

Run happy!

RSD #1,520 Runbelievable
