Hello and welcome!
You are probably here because you are wondering about how people can running every day without missing a day. My name is Colleen Bechtel and I began a running streak on June 6, 2018 when I was 50 years old.
It didn’t begin as a running streak though. It started as a 66 day challenge to run three miles every day to get my running consistent and lose some weight. The first week was probably the hardest since I had never actually run seven days in a row.
Each day got a little bit easier and by the end of the 66 days I was feeling good. So I thought why not see if I can get to 100 days in a row. Then I accomplished that and a friend and fellow streak runner told me that if I get to 365 then I could officially be called a run streaker. Well who doesn’t want that title???
So I set my sights on the 365 and was it complete amazement when I accomplished one year of running three miles every day! If you had told me when I turned 50 that I would be running every day for a year I would have laughed and said no way.
I have learned so much about myself and what I am capable of through this experience. I hope you enjoy reading the daily entries on my journey to my fifth run streak anniversary.
