RSD #1,683 & #1,684 Getting back in the habit of writing these posts

Ran last night around 8:00pm in the dark and stayed on lighted sidewalks. Then woke early this morning and headed out again in the dark with the sky growing lighter as the sun rose. It was a little cooler this morning and the brisk air felt good. Overcast day with rain expected for tomorrow and Monday.

I didn’t get the post in last night after the run. Getting back into the habit of writing and sometimes struggling to find something interesting to reflect on. I think I am most interested in the book I am listening to and planning my future…my next five, or more, moves.

Run happy!

RSD #1,682 Thursday thoughts

Brisk morning run with temps around 45 degrees and partly cloudy. Felt good today and gearing up for a long run this weekend to prep for an upcoming half marathon.

I am listening to Your Next 5 Moves by Patrick Bet-David and really hadn’t hear much about it before starting. The first couple of chapters are very much about getting to know who YOU are, what drives you, and what you really want in life.

You must first know this and where you are going so that you can plan your moves based on your core beliefs and non-negotiables. I found this to be very much like knowing your boundaries and what you will and will not accept in life.

We are all a work in progress…keep doing the hard work and asking the hard questions.

Run happy!

RSD #1,577 Very nice 74 degrees out

Love love love this time of the year. The days are getting a little shorter and the weather is cooling off. My legs were a little tired today for some reason and the scale said I am down a couple pounds. So the sluggishness is probably my upset stomach over the last few days and not eating much.

Still got out and there are more people out too. Lots of dog walkers which is super fun to see. Everyone is happy and the dog people stop and chat with each other. Makes me want to run home and get my dog and go out again. Of course, I don’t have the time as I cut it close with getting back and getting ready for work. This weekend I will commit to taking Kharmella for a walk and post a picture.

Run happy!

RDS #1,477 Daily Habits Are Difficult to Form

The goal of writing every day lasted 11 days. That doesn’t feel good and beating myself up about it is the easy thing to do. I could fill my head with, “Well if it was really important to you then you would have gotten it done.” or “See, you’re not a writer and writing every day it too hard.”

I’m choosing to celebrate that I started this journey of sharing my running story. The good and the bad. I love running and I know the more I write the more I will look forward to it and love it as well.

If you are struggling with a new habit don’t give up. Stay committed and stay positive. It will get better and it will get easier.
