I took care of my mother’s dog while she was out of town and had no internet or cell phone reception so am having to play catch up. She has a little winter home in a retirement community in Casa Grande, AZ and I stayed there with her dog, Mia. I am now old enough to legally live there yet really don’t feel like I belong in a retirement community!
Last weekend I drove out and did a long trail run north of town to prep for the half marathon next week. Still very slow so am not going to stress over trying to hit a new PR this race. Just planning to enjoy the other runners, the music, the weather, and the experience.
Most of the other days I ran early near the community. The mornings are starting to warm up slightly into the 70’s. Luckily some of the paths were shady and it felt great!
I did give up drinking until race day so hoping to feel a difference soon. It is always good to give it up for a bit just to make sure it is not an addiction and that I am in control.
Run happy!
