RSD #1,757 Running off lunch

Had an all day meeting so decided that I would need to get some fresh air after. Bad plan. The lunch was really really good and I filled my belly. Not only did I want to take a nap all afternoon, but I still felt full on my run.

The fresh air absolutely did refresh me and the temperature this evening was a gorgeous 76 degrees as the sun set. The run was slow and that is still fine by me. Not training for anything quite yet so good to just cruise and feel no pressure.

Run happy!

RSD #1,755 Late afternoon with the sun shining

Today felt a bit little a Sunday stroll out on my normal three mile run course. The sun was shining and it was around 68 degrees out with a light breeze. Just perfect!

Listening to The Power of One More and chapter on habits. I’ve read a lot about habits and my running streak actually started as a 66 day habit forming challenge. There are plenty of books and theories on habits in terms of physical habits like brushing your teeth, working out, and eating habits. I think there is less attention to the habits of how we think.

Our thoughts lead to our actions. So if we habitually have thoughts that do not serve us well then do we habitually have actions with outcomes that do not serve us well? I know I have caught myself many, many times over the last nine months with thoughts that did not serve me well.

I am working on it and will continue to work toward my best self. #bettereveryday

Run happy!

RSD #1,754 Whiskey Run

Today was a very fun, Shot in the Dark, whiskey run. It wasn’t dark, however, we did do a shot! Place 3rd in my age bracket and received the very cool coaster. Bo placed 2nd in his age bracket so also got a coaster.

Friends, Heather and Heather who are mother and daughter, joined us and we all took a celebratory shot after the race!

Run happy!

RSD #1,751 Windy, wet, and dreary

So I opted for the treadmill after work! Ran a nice little 5k with the iFit trainer along a beach in Texas. The nice thing about the treadmill is the pace is consistent and I can speed it up or slow it down based on how I am feeling.

The last few days were very slow and heavy as I recover from the weekend. Today was little better with an average pace of about 10 minutes/mile. Glad I am starting to feel better as we have a 5k race this weekend.

Run happy!
