Some weeks are longer than others. By Friday many of us are fried! So happy that I am still about to get out for an early run. Today was overcast and felt a few rain drops. Was hoping for a downpour but no such luck. Maybe tomorrow. Run happy!

RSD #1,507 Routines or habits
Are most days made up of routines that are familiar and contribute to long term success. Or are they a series of habits that compound over time into success. Is there a difference between a routine and a habit? It seems to me a routine is a schedule that is consistent daily and it is…
RSD #1,506 Interval training
I decided to challenge myself a little today. My original thought was to do a 30 second sprint every half mile. And when I say sprint, that means run a little faster…haha, at 54 I am not sure my body knows what a sprint looks like. Anyway, first three sprints went good and my second…
RSD #1,505 Red light, green light
Listening to the book, Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey, after having just read it. I do like this learning style and am enjoying listening as I run (listening to Matthew McConaughey’s voice doesn’t suck). Each chapter has multiple “greenlights” where he describes a life experience or a life lesson. As children we played red light, green…
RSD #1,504 A Staph Infection??
A rash on my back was misdiagnosed last week. The “rash” grew and I finally went into urgent care yesterday where I was told I have a staph infection. Oh that’s fun, right? A shot and two prescriptions later I am hopefully on the mend. It doesn’t affect running. Just a nuisance…a distraction. Oh, and…
RSD #1,502 & #1,503 Cooler weather
Spent the weekend in Prescott Valley with my youngest son. Cooler early morning temps were a welcome change. Ran a little slower in the elevation and still just enjoyed the scenery and hills. It was a good weekend. Run happy!
RSD #1,501 Simple
The simple things in life. They can be easy to take for granted like a close friend will always be there, your health, and your family. They are all beautiful and wonderful blessings that seem simple but can become complicated in an instant. How do you keep life simple in a complex world? There is…
RSD #1,500 Half a comma!!
In the run streaking world day 1,000 is your comma day. I hit my day 1,000 on March 1, 2021 and was so excited. I wanted to get a tattoo…and still do. I will have to post my tattoo idea soon. Now I am halfway to another comma. Just another example of how quickly time…
RSD #1,499 Overcast and humid
Love our Arizona monsoon weather and the clouds that shade my entire run. What a great run this morning! My average pace was 9:23 min/mi and I felt like I had more to give. Looking for a race to enter to give me something to train for. Maybe an out of state run in California…
RSD #1,498 Late run
Couldn’t run this morning because of some spots removed on my lips yesterday that were still bleeding. So planned to go run on the treadmill this evening. When I go to the gym it was 100 degrees and the AC units were not working! Waited until about 8:45 pm and it is still 94 degrees…
