RSD #1,590 Evening run

Just didn’t feel good this morning and slept in a little. Had a great day at a Keller Williams training event with around eight other agents from our office. They all got so much out of it and were so full of energy after it was fulfilling to see.

Ran my three miles as the sun was setting. Haven’t done an evening run in a while and it was definitely different. Pace was decent around a 9:30 min/mi pace and physically felt okay. Looking forward to the cooler temps in the morning.

RSD #1,589 Big Potential

Big Potential is the name of the book I started listening to today. It is written by Shawn Achor who wrote The Happiness Advantage. So far very similar and I am sure Big Potential builds off of The Happiness Advantage.

Isn’t it interesting what we can build off of. We can build off of positive energy or we can build off of negative energy. The choice is ours. What feeds us and what do we allow to grow inside of us? I am working very hard to keep the negative out and feed off of the positive. When you are in the midst of a crisis some days will be easier than others. Staying strong both mentally and physically required concentration and dedication.

So today I ran and listened and filled my mind with positive. Each day I will work to fill my mind with the positive and when the negative creeps in, which it does, I will only entertain it for a short time and then it will need to go.

I want to heal and be happy.

RSD #1,587 More Green Gulch Trail

Went back to Green Gulch Trail in Dewey, AZ today for an out and back. The beginning of the trail is rocky and no shade. Close to a mile in and the trail narrows into a more wooded type terrain with lots of shade.

The two days in a row and each day I only ran into one other hiker. It was peaceful and therapeutic for me. I don’t know where the trail ends so I will have to go back and keep exploring. Plus it is very close to my mother’s house so good to know I have an amazing trail to go run when I visit her.

RSD #1,586 A new trail run

The Green Gulch Trail is near my mom’s house and this is the first time I ventured out to it. Located in Dewey Arizona and off the beaten path I didn’t know what to expect.

Luckily there was a lady with her two dogs just coming off the trail as I was setting out. She let me know the best route to achieve my 3+ mile goal for the day.

It was slow going in the beginning as the trail was rocky and a slow uphill grade. The trail was along a dry creek and inter twined the creek bed. It was a little hard to follow and I got off the path a few times. Eventually the tail narrowed and entered a more wooded area with tree cover. This was my favorite part.

The narrow path was a little over grown as I got further along. I was very careful with my footing and tried to enjoy the beauty around me. I will definitely be back to the Green Gulch Trail.

RSD #1,585 Trail run in Prescott

Another attempt to run the trail around Watson Lake in Prescott and the third time was the charm! A beautiful sunset trail run was just what the doctor ordered!

The first time we tried this as a casual hike around the lake, took a wrong turn and ended up hiking about 12 miles around Prescott. We still have good laughs about this leisurely hike that wasn’t so leisurely. The next time I went alone and when I got to the rocks I accidently doubled back to the original trail and just threw the towel in and ran back to the car.

Tonight I started on the opposite side of the lake trail and finally found my way. the first part of the trail is very rocky and you really have to watch the trail markings. The second half was very familiar and easy. Total today was 4.25 beautiful miles.

RSD #1,583 & #1,584 A Little Help From Friends

The beautiful weather makes for great runs in the morning! The last two days I got to spend the evening with amazing friends who lift my spirits. It’s been so good for me to start and end my days in such positive ways.

I am counting the gains and grateful to have strong, supportive women in my life.

And if you get the chance to see the Broadway show Six you should see it! So much history wrapped into a high energy and fun show. The message wasn’t missed by me either! Make your own story!

RSD #1,582 Under 70 degrees

Okay, it was 69 degrees this morning which is under 70 degrees! There was some light cloud cover from the monsoon last night and the morning felt like fall.

Nice easy clip on the normal route. It is fall break so fewer people out and about. Definitely less traffic which is always good. Again around a 9:15 min/mi pace.
