RSD #1,504 A Staph Infection??

A rash on my back was misdiagnosed last week. The “rash” grew and I finally went into urgent care yesterday where I was told I have a staph infection. Oh that’s fun, right? A shot and two prescriptions later I am hopefully on the mend.

It doesn’t affect running. Just a nuisance…a distraction. Oh, and it is contagious. Great. Hope I didn’t spread it to anyone over the weekend.

We had a big monsoon storm last night with power outages all around. So the weather is nice and humid. Nice little petri dish for my “rash”.

Got the run in. Run happy…ish! 🙂

RSD #1,501 Simple

The simple things in life. They can be easy to take for granted like a close friend will always be there, your health, and your family. They are all beautiful and wonderful blessings that seem simple but can become complicated in an instant.

How do you keep life simple in a complex world? There is beauty in simplicity. The ability to take the complicated and bring it down to the simple. To deeply understand the core and the true meaning of things, people, and actions.

Right now things seem complicated for me. On my run I thought about this. How something so simple became so complicated. Where did it turn? Where do I go next to bring back simplicity?

Deep thoughts on a Friday run. Run happy!

RSD #1,500 Half a comma!!

In the run streaking world day 1,000 is your comma day. I hit my day 1,000 on March 1, 2021 and was so excited. I wanted to get a tattoo…and still do. I will have to post my tattoo idea soon.

Now I am halfway to another comma. Just another example of how quickly time passes as it seems like I just hit the thousand mark. Another example of how living each day to the fullest is so important.

Today it was overcast and a little muggy. Same old route just a different day and it felt good!

Run happy!

RSD #1,499 Overcast and humid

Love our Arizona monsoon weather and the clouds that shade my entire run. What a great run this morning! My average pace was 9:23 min/mi and I felt like I had more to give.

Looking for a race to enter to give me something to train for. Maybe an out of state run in California or a trip to Colorado to see my sister. I am going to start looking today.

RSD #1,498 Late run

Couldn’t run this morning because of some spots removed on my lips yesterday that were still bleeding. So planned to go run on the treadmill this evening. When I go to the gym it was 100 degrees and the AC units were not working!

Waited until about 8:45 pm and it is still 94 degrees outside but at least there was a full moon and slight breeze. Haven’t run at night for a while and it was a nice change.

Run tired and happy!

RSD 1,496 Uneventful and steady

Today’s run was a little slower, it’s Sunday…rest day, so just listened to my book and let my legs go however fast they wanted to go. It really is a privilege to be able to run and thoroughly enjoy it.

Having my health and the freedom to run when I want to just go run is not something I want to take for granted. As I get older I know at a deeper level how lucky I am. Thank you God!

Run happy!

RSD #1,495 Each day is a new beginning

Today was a beautiful run and felt like a fresh new beginning. Isn’t that a great way to start each day? As a new beginning. A new day to learn, to give, to do better, and to be better.

Yesterday is now a memory. It happened and now it is time to make the best of it. Frame it for a better more positive future.

Run happy, be happy.
